Storytelling students create myths and fables in ELA class

DStudents stand in row holding booksraper students in Rachel Geracitano’s ELA class recently wrapped up a unit on myths, legends and tales by creating a myth, legend, fable or tall tale of their own to convert into a children’s book format. The students spent hours hard at work as they wrote, edited and revised their stories while working with illustrations and planning out the structure of their books to make them as engaging as possible for children.

At the end of the project, the students were able to access electronic copies of their book and received color copies of their creations from Mary Pels to share with their peers.

“The students really enjoyed this project, and their passion and hard work was evident in each of their books,” Mrs. Geracitano said. “I am so proud of each and every one of them.”
