Is a Trade Profession in Your Future – Find Out Feb. 9
A recruiter from a national trade union will host a virtual forum to teach Draper and MHS students about the many opportunities that await them in the trade professions.
Timothy Coleman, a recruiting specialist for US Local 669 Sprinkler Fitters Union, will introduce MHS students the pathways to success in the building and construction trades, from apprenticeships to foreman positions and project manager jobs.
The presentation, which is encouraged for students from 6th grade up, will take place via Zoom at 2:30 p.m., February 9. Please wait for the correct date and time to visit the Zoom meeting. For more information, please email Sue Petrosino at spetrosino@mohonasen.org. See additional information on the flier below.
The Sprinkler Fitters union is part of the pipe trades, but that is not all Mr. Coleman will be discussing. As Baby Boomers (those born between 1946 and 1964) continue to retire, more trade profession jobs will become available. There are many opportunities in several fields, Mr. Coleman said, including painting, carpentry, roofing, welding, plumbing, HVAC, iron working, refrigeration, truck driving, and more!
Mr. Coleman will also bring a message about the value of labor unions, including the ability to earn a living wage, collective bargaining, health and retirement benefits, and retiring with dignity.
Please feel free to share this with another family that might be interested.
