Mohonasen environmental studies students visited the Patroon Land Foundation Sept. 18 to help harvest food for the Regional Food Bank.
The Regional Food Bank partnered with the Patroon Land Foundation in 2006 to develop a self-sustaining educational farm. The farm has yielded more than 1 million pounds of fresh produce over the years, which benefits more than 1,000 participating agencies in 23 counties. In addition, the farm sells produce through a Community Supported Agriculture program and an on-site farm stand, both of which help to offset the farm’s expenses.
