The Music Department held its annual Music Awards and Tri-M Honor Society induction ceremony on May 18.
The ceremony was highlighted by four senior recital pieces performed by Mariah Darconte, Maria Andrew, Nafis Wright, Alyssa Foti and Raina Anderson.
The music department awarded 36 Junior Letters and 32 Senior Plaques. Many of these students have been performing in their music ensembles since Pinewood. In addition, the Tri-M Honor Society inducted 19 new members into its current chapter #5585.
Each performance ensemble also recognized students that participate in their advanced Select Ensembles, such as Select Choir, A Capella, Jazz Band, Guard, and Select Orchestra.
The music theory course honored 5 students that took the advanced AP exam this past week: Raina Anderson, Kevin Gildharry, Mai Trinh Le, Nate Finke and Brendon Seney.
The music department also recognized the service of the students in the music production class who have worked above and beyond this year to help not only music department functions, but any music-related function in the school.
“We are so proud of this year’s recipients,” said Mohonasen Performing Arts Facilitator and Tri-M advisor Kimberly Kondenar. “They are all dedicated and hard-working students that make us Mohon Proud.”
