The Schenectady Foundation, founded in 1963 to benefit the health and wellness of people who live and work in Schenectady, has been working with its food security partners in Schenectady County to bolster community members’ ability to safely and affordably access nutritious food for themselves and their families.
The Coalition is ramping up its capacity to deliver pantry boxes to homes of Mohonasen students, and provide grab-and-go prepared meals to pick up.
People needing assistance should call The Food Pantries for the Capital District at 518.458.1167 to learn about the food resources nearest them, and if needed, to request delivery of a food pantry box.
The Food Pantries also hosts a calendar which lists all of the upcoming “food events” in the Capital Region. You can find the calendar here: https://www.thefoodpantries.org/food-distribution-calendar.html.
