Breakfast and lunch will be free for all students in all buildings through the end of the school year, district officials have announced.

Funds distributed through the USDA allowed the district to extend the free meals program past the original expiration date of Dec. 2020. The measure helps ensure that children continue to have access to school meals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The program applies to all students, including hybrid, remote and on-site learners.

We Still Need Completed Free and Reduced Applications:

If you feel you might be eligible for free and reduced-price meals, families are urged to fill out and submit the Free and Reduced Meal Application. Translated applications are available here.

Submitting the application is important for the following reasons:

If federal funding were to run out, your household would immediately become full pay for all school meals.
Your household would be full pay for all school meals beginning the first day of school in September 2021.

Your household could miss out on financial benefits such as Pandemic EBT Cards, reduced testing fees, reduced college in the high school courses, and more.

What parents and students need to know:

Bradt Primary School:

Students are given grab-and-go breakfasts as they exit the bus and enter the building. Students take their breakfast to their classrooms to eat. No pin numbers needed.

Teachers ask students in the morning (first-period class) if they want lunch. Lunches are then ordered and delivered to the students in their classrooms to eat.

Because parent-teacher conferences are resulting in virtual half days for elementary students on Nov. 10 and 19, families may pick up breakfast and lunch outside the high school auditorium between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. on the day before.

Pinewood Intermediate School:

Students are given grab-and-go breakfasts as they exit the bus and enter the building. No pin numbers needed.

Teachers ask students in the morning (first-period class) if they want lunch. Lunches are then ordered and delivered to the students in their classrooms to eat.

Draper Middle School:

Breakfast is delivered to sixth graders in their classrooms.

Seventh and eighth graders can go through the cafeteria line for breakfast and bring their breakfast to first-period class.

For lunch, all in-school students go through the cafeteria line. Some students eat in the cafeteria and others are assigned alternate locations to eat and are socially distanced.

Mohonasen High School:

Students retrieve grab-and-go breakfast as they enter the building. There are two kiosks set up where students can get breakfast – in the halls near the library and the gymnasium.

For lunch, students go through to one of two cafeterias and are assigned eating locations – either in the cafeteria or the gymnasium.

Fully virtual Students (all schools):

Grab-and go-meals are offered daily for curbside pick-up outside the high school auditorium between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. One breakfast and one lunch are distributed at these times. Families do not have to sign up to receive these meals.

Hybrid Students:

Hybrid students who have a rotating schedule of two virtual and two in-school days may pick up one breakfast and one lunch at the high school auditorium between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. on the day before their virtual days.
